The new Grok model was developed using over ten times the computing power of its predecessor, Grok-2. This was achieved through xAI’s supercomputer cluster, Colossus, located in Memphis, Tennessee. A standout feature of the new Grok model is its advanced reasoning abilities. Access to Grok’s advanced features is available through the Grok app for subscribers to X Premium Plus, starting at $40 per month. Additionally, xAI offers a new subscription plan called SuperGrok, providing the most advanced capabilities and early access to new features for $30 per month (Newton, 2025).
Future Developments
Looking ahead, xAI plans to introduce a synthesized voice feature to Grok-3, enhancing user interaction. Furthermore, there are plans to open-source Grok-2 in the coming months, fostering transparency and collaboration within the AI community (Newton, 2025).
